MBQIP Awards
The Medicare Beneficiary Quality Improvement Project, or MBQIP, is the quality report program for critical access hospitals. The program was implemented in 2011.
Today there are four reporting domains: outpatient, patient engagement or HCAHPS, care transitions or EDTC, and patient safety.
Today, all critical access hospitals here in OK participate and report quality data. Not only do our hospitals participate, some do very well.
This is our fourth year to do awards, and we adopted methodology developed by the Oregon Office of Rural Health to calculate the MBQIP data to identify the top performers. We adopted a point system for applying a point for every measure (in every quarter) that a facility performs better than the state’s benchmark, 90th percentile, and the national benchmark, 90th percentile, for
the most recent four quarters of data.
The measures included were:
Patient Care- OP-18 (3Q 2022- 2Q 2022), OP-22 (2022), OP-27/HCP2 (4Q2022-1Q2023), Antibiotic Stewardship, All EDTC (3Q2022- 2Q2023)
The winner was
Drumright Regional Hospital
Overall Top Performer includes all patient care and patient satisfaction measures.
