LPN - Pre-Op
POSITION SUMMARY:
Prepares outpatients for endoscopy or surgery. Reports to OR Supervisor, supervises no one, interacts with OR team, the anesthetist, surgeon, floor nurse, drug room supervisor, patient family members and area agencies.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
1. Carries out pre-operative orders on outpatients arriving for surgery or endoscopy.
2. Conducts initial assessment under RN supervision.
3. Obtain vital signs, starts IVs and administers medications under RN supervision.
4. Assists with scheduling of surgical patients.
5. Obtains history & physical from referring providers/facilities, reviews patient chart and preoperative documentation for accuracy and completeness.
6. Confirm patient identification, surgical site, and procedure per protocol.
7. Obtain and document patient history, including allergies and medications.
8. Projects a positive, professional imagine, by being courteous, smiling, and being professional to patients, physicians, and other staff. Additional Information Position Type : Full Time Shift : Day Hourly Wage: $20.00 - $26.94 per/hour
